Easy Delivery

Shipping containers are delivered by truck. Before unloading, make sure there's enough space for the truck to drop off the container. At Blairworx, our team is happy to help you assess how much room you need for a shipping container drop-off. A good rule of thumb is to allow an area about twice the length of the container, with extra room in a straight line. For optimal placement, containers should be on level ground, especially in areas prone to flooding, where elevation is key.

Which Industries Benefit Most from New and Used Shipping Containers?

The shipping container, originally designed for global transportation, has transformed into one of the most versatile innovations of our time. Made primarily from durable Corten steel, shipping containers are perfect for many uses in a wide range of industries. Let's check out a few of the most popular.

Onsite Storage Shipping Containers for Sale in Savannah, GA

Whether you're expanding your commercial operations or moving out of your house, at some point, there's a chance you'll need additional storage. According to recent data, nearly 40% of Americans are currently using self-storage. If you need a short-term solution, a storage facility might work. But if you have long-lasting storage needs, it could be time to explore a more affordable solution.

Monthly Storage Options vs. Shipping Containers for Sale in Savannah, GA

Twenty years ago, shipping containers were not easily attainable for the average person. Nowadays, you can buy a container from Blairworx and have it delivered right to your business or home on the same day. In many parts of the United States, a 20ft shipping container-which provides long-lasting solutions for building, storage, and shipping-can be purchased for less than what you would pay for a year of traditional climate-controlled storage.

A Reliable Long-Term Investment

When thinking about storage options, money is often a big factor in making a choice. At first, renting a storage unit might seem like a simpler and cheaper option because there aren't many costs upfront. But if you look at the big picture, buying a storage container from Blairworx Logistics can save you more money in the long run. When you own a shipping container, you pay once instead of making regular rental payments that can add up over time.

One of the best things about having your own storage container is how flexible it is. Unlike traditional storage units that are stuck in one place, a container from Blairworx can be set up exactly where you want it. This makes it very easy to access your goods when you need them. This feature is especially helpful for business owners who need to grab their items often or need storage closer to their storefront or office.

Apartments Near Savannah GA: Renters Finally Get Relief as New Housing Surges

If you’ve been searching for an apartment near Savannah, Georgia, you’re not alone — and you’re definitely not imagining how competitive it’s become. Once known for its peaceful charm and tree-lined streets, Savannah’s housing market has been red-hot for the past few years. But now, there’s a small yet noticeable shift happening. After years of soaring rents and long waiting lists, renters might finally be catching a breather.

Over the last few years, Savannah transformed from a quiet coastal gem into one of the Southeast’s most sought-after cities. Its mix of historic beauty, college town energy, and job growth near the port and tourism industries brought thousands of new residents to the area.

By 2023, reports showed Savannah was the 4th most competitive rental market in the entire Southeast — with around 12 renters fighting for every available unit. Median rents touched $2,100 a month, and listings barely lasted a week.

But as 2025 rolls in, that “boom” is showing signs of balance.

MORE ARTICLES:

Developers saw the demand — and responded fast. Around 2,600 new apartment units are expected to open in 2025, on top of the 2,200 added last year.

That’s a big deal for renters. With more inventory available, competition is cooling slightly. Occupancy rates have dipped to about 93%, which means landlords are beginning to offer move-in specials, free rent, and flexible leases just to fill units.

For the first time in years, renters have choices — and a bit of leverage.

A report from SavannahCEO found that about 30% of local apartment listings now come with some kind of incentive — like a free month’s rent or waived parking fees. That’s a huge change from 2022, when getting approved for an apartment felt like winning the lottery.

Analysts also say rental affordability in Savannah has reached its best level in four years, thanks to a combination of new supply and slower rent growth.

In short: if you’ve been holding off on moving, now might finally be the right time.

If you’re apartment-hunting near Savannah, location can make a big difference:

Each part of Savannah carries its own personality, and your budget will go a lot further if you explore beyond the city core.

The apartment market near Savannah, GA, is still busy — but it’s finally tilting in favor of renters. New buildings are rising, rent hikes are slowing, and landlords are offering deals not seen since before the boom.

For renters, that means opportunity. Whether you’re a student, young professional, or relocating family, 2025 could be the year you find your place in the heart of Georgia’s most historic coastal city.

Rent prices in Savannah have started to stabilize after years of rapid growth. With thousands of new apartment units being built in 2024–2025, competition among landlords has slightly reduced, leading to more rental incentives and slower price increases.

Compared to previous years, it’s easier to find apartments in Savannah now. The city’s growing inventory and lower occupancy rates (around 93%) mean renters have more options and better bargaining power in 2025.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Airports across the country saw increased impacts over the weekend. On flights within, into or out of the US on Sunday there were almost 3,000 cancellations and more than 11,000 delays. That’s according to the flight tracking website, FlightAware.

WTOC spoke with folks at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport about any impacts you can expect locally.

Officials told us Savannah/Hilton Head International saw seven cancellations over the weekend. Airport leaders recommend checking with your airline ahead of time, saying most of those cancellations are being done in advance.

We have been tracking the arrivals and departures all day Monday and so far there have been two cancellations.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE:

Our airport leaders also told us they haven’t heard of any problems with air traffic control staffing at Savannah/Hilton Head International, but unfortunately that can’t be said everywhere. The president of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association announced Monday marks the first time in history that air traffic controllers have received two $0 paychecks.

“If you want to know what the real fallout of this shutdown is, it’s not a budget line. It is the smallest and the most dangerous shift of all. When the most disciplined safety workforce in America is forced to think about survival instead of public safety, this is the cost,” said Nick Daniels, President, National Air Traffic Controllers Association.

He’s hoping the shutdown will come to an end soon, but says during the last shutdown it took months for some air traffic controllers to get their full back pay, meaning if the shutdown ends this week, impacts could last beyond that.

Stick with WTOC as we continue to check-in to ensure you are informed before you travel this upcoming holiday season.

Ripple effects of the U.S. government shutdown have reached airports nationwide

SAVANNAH, Ga. —

The current U.S. government shutdown is now approaching its sixth week. Airport travelers are feeling the strain as staffing shortages force significant changes to dozens of airports across the country.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced Wednesday that 40 high-volume airports will see a 10% reduction in air traffic in the coming days. The Federal Aviation Administration released a list of affected airports, including major hubs like New York City, Atlanta and Los Angeles.

The list does not include the Savannah Hilton Head International Airport, but the airport is still impacted indirectly. Of 68 flights scheduled for Thursday, 64 involve arrivals or departures from airports on the FAA's list.

TRENDING STORIES

Savannah resident Seaira Douglas shared how the shutdown has altered her holiday plans. Instead of flying or driving to Barnwell, South Carolina, to visit her daughter, she’s using a different mode of transportation.

"I'm going to be biking (and) hitchhiking," Douglas said. "A lot of the times it can't go exactly well, so be careful. But this is my daughter we're talking about."

Douglas expressed frustration over the shutdown's broader effects.

"The government shutdown, it's driving me insane, honestly, because food is getting jacked up," she said.

The shutdown has left 13,000 air traffic controllers and 50,000 Transportation Security Administration agents working without pay. Savannah Hilton Head International Airport issued a statement on Thursday urging travelers to check with their airlines for the "latest flight updates," and to "expect possible delays at major airports."

Some airlines, including American, Delta and United, are offering refunds or free changes for flights impacted by cancellations.

Last year, the Department of Transportation released a list of rules that protect passengers, where airlines must automatically issue a full refund if a flight is "cancelled or significantly changed."

The Savannah Hilton Head International Airport also extended its gratitude to TSA agents, air traffic controllers and Customs and Border Protection officers for their "dedication to keeping travelers safe during this challenging time."

The latest chapter in former LSU, Georgia, and Nebraska tight end Arik Gilbert's career is an unfortunate one. According to the Athens Banner-Herald, Gilbert, now at Savannah State, was arrested for shoplifting and obstruction charges. In six games with the Tigers, Gilbert was second on the team with 19 catches for 258 yards and a touchdown. This is the third-known arrest for Gilbert since he arrived in college as a five-star out of Marietta, Ga.

Gilbert entered the transfer portal a third time in December after a tumultuous tenure at Nebraska. The former five-star LSU signee spent the 2022 season at Georgia before ahead of Matt Rhule's first season in an attempt . He had not played since 2022 . He was arrested again two weeks later in Georgia for smash-and-grab burglary and obstruction of officers in Lumpkin County. Gilbert never appeared in a game with the Huskers.

Gilbert still has up to two years of eligibility remaining, thanks to the NCAA's additional year due to COVID. Gilbert did not suit up for the Bulldogs in 2021 but was with the team when they celebrated their national championship with a parade in Athens. Gilbert played in three of Georgia's 13 games during the 2022 season. In that time, he recorded 2 receptions for 16 yards and 1 touchdown.

Gilbert caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from Carson Beck in the fourth quarter against Vanderbilt on Oct. 22 for Gilbert's first and only touchdown as a Bulldog. The score was the biggest highlight of the day for Gilbert, who saw the field for the first time since the Samford game on Sept. 10 and ended the afternoon with 2 receptions for 16 yards and 1 touchdown.

"It was great, man," Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said of Gilbert's touchdown after the game. "Great for that kid confidence-wise and just trying to get him something to celebrate and be happy about. I was really happy for him."

Teammates like wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint recognized how special that moment was for Gilbert.

"Since he got here, he's been through a couple adverse moments — those up and downs — so to see him be in the end zone finally, I'm speechless, you feel me? He's put in a lot of work. I've been seeing him put in a lot of work. He's been through a lot, so to see him do that finally and live out the dream, it's a blessing," Rosemy-Jacksaint said. "When he scored, everybody was up for him. The whole offense, defense, we were all excited for him."

Gilbert's touchdown proved to be the high point of a fall that's led to a lot of questions about the standout tight end. Gilbert was not seen with the team for the Georgia Tech or Kentucky games. He did make the trip to the Mississippi State game on Nov. 12 but ultimately did not play. Smart explained on Oct. 3 the Bulldogs were working to help Gilbert as he tries to make further progress with his game. Smart's comments came after Gilbert traveled with the team for the Missouri game but did not play.

"We're trying to develop him and bring him along. It's important that he is there for meetings, walk-throughs, being there with us, being with the team, being part of that connection," Smart said. "He's got a great rapport with the players. That's why he was there."

Gilbert was with the team and went through warm-ups for the team's game against Kent State but did not play. He did not travel with the team on its first road game at South Carolina the week before and has not played since the Samford game on Sept. 10. When asked about Gilbert's absence after the South Carolina game, Smart did not have many details to share with reporters.

"All I can say is he didn't make the trip for personal reasons," Smart said. "[We're] hoping he gets back with us."

Two days after the South Carolina victory, Smart deemed Gilbert "day-to-day throughout the week."

Gilbert received plenty of attention entering the 2022 season for Georgia, but his role to start the year was minimal. He played 13 snaps in the Bulldogs' season opener against Oregon but did not record a catch on 1 target; the next week, Gilbert played 10 snaps but did not record a catch nor a target. Gilbert did not play against South Carolina, Kent State, Missouri or Auburn before returning to the field for the Vanderbilt game.

Gilbert entered the spring with plenty of hype and quickly took advantage of extra reps due to the absences of Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington for the entire spring, and later Ryland Goede after an injury suffered during the spring. Gilbert ended the spring on a high note by catching 3 passes for 49 yards and 2 touchdowns to help the Black team defeat the Red team at G-Day.

Gilbert's journey up to this point has been a rollercoaster, to say the least. The Gatorade National Player of the Year while at Marietta High School, the five-star prospect started his college career at LSU. He received first team Freshman All-SEC honors in 2020 after catching 35 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers.

Gilbert left LSU after his freshman season and initially transferred to Florida before transferring to Georgia last summer. He was a second-team All-American selection by PFF but was not with the Bulldogs during fall camp due to what Smart deemed "personal issues."
