As companies continue to expand their reach internationally, the significance of container shipping grows even more. The demand for shipping containers has surged in recent years, emerging as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option for a range of commercial and even personal needs.
Finding secure storage for your business tools, equipment, or personal belongings has never been more straightforward. Blairworx Logistics stands out as the top provider of new and used shipping containers for sale. When we speak to our clients about their shipping container experience, they often cite benefits like:
One of the main reasons shipping containers are favored across various industries is their remarkable durability. Like Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, PA, these containers are engineered to endure the harsh conditions of the open sea, including fierce storms, strong winds, and extreme cold temperatures.
Constructed from steel, shipping containers are coated with a specialized paint that safeguards against corrosion, ensuring they remain reliable for many years. Additionally, each container is capable of supporting heavy loads and can be stacked efficiently, maximizing space during transport.
One of the biggest benefits of shipping containers is their versatility. While freight containers are great for storage, they can also serve as office spaces. In fact, with a little creativity, you can use your shipping container as both an office and a storage area. Blairworx Logistics' shipping containers for sale are great for a range of uses in many industries, including:
When it comes to shipping containers, the main replacement you'll need to think about every few years is the door gaskets. Shipping containers are designed for low maintenance, but it's still important to carry out an annual inspection to check for any areas where rust might start to form.
Shipping containers are delivered by truck. Before unloading, make sure there's enough space for the truck to drop off the container. At Blairworx, our team is happy to help you assess how much room you need for a shipping container drop-off. A good rule of thumb is to allow an area about twice the length of the container, with extra room in a straight line. For optimal placement, containers should be on level ground, especially in areas prone to flooding, where elevation is key.
A shipping container is an excellent solution for storing your products, important documents, valuable equipment, and just about anything else that matters to you. Unlike other companies that provide standard storage options, we offer fully customizable solutions designed to meet your unique needs.
Need a mobile office for your business in The Palmetto State? Perhaps you're working on a large construction project for several months and require a secure place for your tools. If you and your family are renovating your home and need a clean, dry space for clothes and other belongings, look no further. A storage container from Blairworx is just what you need to solve your storage challenges.

Whether you're expanding your commercial operations or moving out of your house, at some point, there's a chance you'll need additional storage. But if you have long-lasting storage needs, it could be time to explore a more affordable solution.
Twenty years ago, shipping containers were not easily attainable for the average person. Nowadays, you can buy a container from Blairworx and have it delivered right to your business or home on the same day. In many parts of the United States, a 20ft shipping container-which provides long-lasting solutions for building, storage, and shipping-can be purchased for less than what you would pay for a year of traditional climate-controlled storage.
When thinking about storage options, money is often a big factor in making a choice. At first, renting a storage unit might seem like a simpler and cheaper option because there aren't many costs upfront. But if you look at the big picture, buying a storage container from Blairworx Logistics can save you more money in the long run. When you own a shipping container, you pay once instead of making regular rental payments that can add up over time.
One of the best things about having your own storage container is how flexible it is. Unlike traditional storage units that are stuck in one place, a container from Blairworx can be set up exactly where you want it. This makes it very easy to access your goods when you need them. This feature is especially helpful for business owners who need to grab their items often or need storage closer to their storefront or office.
It doesn't take a graduate from University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA, to know that shipping containers play a major role in the realm of transportation and logistics. PITTSBURGH, PA — A major Pittsburgh roadway will close and access to one of the region's largest parks will be restricted later this month.
PennDOT announced Tuesday that beginning on Nov. 17, Commercial Street/Forward Avenue - used by many motorists as a shortcut between the Parkway East and the city - will close continuously between Whipple Street and Summerset Drive until the end of January.
Additionally, the Frick Park Nine Mile Run trail will close to all pedestrian and bicycle traffic between the Nine Mile Run parking lot on the Swisshelm Park side and the Commercial Street parking lot on the Squirrel Hill side.
The closures are necessary for the $95 million replacement of the Parkway East Commercial Street Bridge replacement project on the eastern side of the Squirrel Hill tunnel before the Edgewood/Swissvale exit.
The new span is being constructed in a section of Frick Park. The project will utilize accelerated bridge construction techniques to laterally slide the new bridge onto the existing alignment of the parkway next year.
Crews continue to build the new Commercial Street Bridge structure, which PennDOT says requires the transportation of cranes, lifting of beams and relocating other heavy material over the roadway and trail. PennDOT says that for the safety of the public, roadway and trail must be clear of vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic as through the work zone while that occurs.
For the rest of the year, nine overnight full closures and detours of the parkway, a full weekend closure and detour lanes in each direction, and 35 extended weeknight single-lane restrictions on eastbound will occur.
Next year, motorists can expect a 25-day full closure and detour of I-376. The overall project is anticipated to conclude in the summer of 2027.
For the closure beginning on Nov. 17, PennDOT recommends the following detours.
From Commercial Street on the Swisshelm Park side
From Forward Avenue on the Squirrel Hill side

PITTSBURGH, PA — A renowned New York City pizzeria is stepping out of its Brooklyn boundaries and opening its first Pittsburgh location.
F&F Pizzeria will have its official debut on Monday October 37. It's in the former Bados Pizza Grill Ale House space on Beverly Road in Mt. Lebanon and is the first F&F outside of the original one in Brooklyn's Carroll Garden section.
F&F, run by chefs Frank Falcinelli and Frank Castonovo, has been named one of New York City's top pizzerias by The New York Times.
The opening here will come with limited hours and reservations and can be made online. Walk-ins and to-go orders will also be welcomed during this time.
The two Franks first rose to prominence with the Italian restaurant Frankies 457 in Brooklyn in 2003. Over the years, the duo also published a cookbook and launched a brand of olive oil, which quickly grew to offer other fine foods sourced from independent farms and craftsmen throughout Italy.
The original location of F&F Pizzeria opened in 2019, just down the block from Frankies. In late 2024, the Franks expanded F&F Pizzeria next door and opened the full-service F&F Restaurant and Bar. Following this milestone, the next natural step for the Franks was to bring their concept to other markets.
The Franks connection to Pittsburgh is personal, lined with friends from culinary school and a connection to the neighborhoods that reminded the owners of the way the pair grew up in Queens. Pittsburgh’s thriving pizza culture was also a factor in the Steel City being selected as the first location outside of Brooklyn for F&F.
The pizzeria embraces natural fermentation and using ingredients of the highest quality—including Bianco DiNapoli organic tomatoes and Frankies 457 Extra Virgin Olive Oil. In addition to featuring a variety of pies, F&F Pizzeria offers a trattoria menu with small plates like Arancini, and the duo’s Castelvetrano Nocellara Olives, followed by a variety of insalata and entrees like the Vodka Rigatoni Al Forno and Shrimp with Polenta.
The opening menu will also feature Calzone and the F&F Calzoagie with mortadella, soppressata, sungolds and Red Rock cheddar.
F&F will have a soft open October 24- October 26. All walk-in business will be first come, first-served. Reservations will open on Monday, October 27. Online ordering will be added soon.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The country's leading producer of American-made zinc-based energy storage systems is making a $352.9 million investment in the Pittsburgh area.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro announced on Tuesday that New Jersey-based Eos Energy Enterprises will relocate its headquarter to Pittsburgh from New Jersey, expand its existing operation in Allegheny County and create and retain 1,000 total jobs.
The state is investing $22 million into the project, which will add at least 735 new jobs to the company's current 265 employees here.
Eos currently leases two facilities in Turtle Creek, where an initial phase of the project began in 2024 with the installation of a new automated production line. As part of Tuesday's announced expansion, the company will lease an existing 432,000-square-foot facility in Marshall Township in northern Allegheny County where additional production lines are planned.
Eos will also relocate its corporate headquarters from New Jersey to a 40,000-square-foot office space at Nova Place, located in Pittsburgh’s North Shore neighborhood in the latter half of 2026. This relocation will support Eos’s proprietary battery management system, software, controls, and analytics platform, DawnOS, as well as its corporate operations.
In alignment with its expanding software and engineering focus, Eos will strengthen its partnership with local universities, notably Carnegie Mellon University, to cultivate a workforce proficient in robotics, artificial intelligence, computer science, and engineering.
“The demand for energy is going up — and my administration is capitalizing on Pennsylvania’s strengths as a national energy leader and net energy exporter to attract leading energy manufacturers like Eos Energy to the commonwealth,” Shapiro said in a statement.
Allegheny County also invested $2 million to support this relocation and expansion by Eos.
Founded in 2008, Eos develops and manufactures American-made aqueous zinc batteries (Znyth™), currently targeting the utility, industrial and commercial sector for power storage. Designed for a decentralized, democratized, and decarbonized energy system, Eos solutions support sustainable clean energy systems and resilient power grids, while supporting American supply chains through their 91 percent domestic content.

People in Pennsylvania are being alerted to a new scam targeting those who receive SNAP benefits.
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services said Wednesday that SNAP clients are receiving calls from several phone numbers saying that benefits are on hold until eligibility can be verified by calling a number and providing a pin.
The department says the calls are a scam and they come from the following phone numbers:
People who receive the scam calls are asked to call the Department of Human Services fraud tip line at 1-844-347-8477.
The scam warning comes days after SNAP recipients across the state were notified they will not receive benefits that were slated to be paid in November.
Human Services noted that SNAP benefits will not be paid until the federal government shutdown ends and funds are released to the state.
If recipients need immediate food assistance, they are urged to call 211 or visit the Feeding Pennsylvania website or the PA Navigate website.
SNAP recipients will be properly notified when payments can resume and when future payments can be expected.
The Department of Human Services is also reminding residents that they are still responsible for completing renewals and reporting any changes to their income, contact information, or the people living in their home during the government shutdown.

As part of this expansion, the company will lease an existing 432,000-square-foot facility in Marshall Township in northern Allegheny County where additional production lines are planned for deployment.

"The demand for energy is going up — and my Administration is capitalizing on Pennsylvania's strengths as a national energy leader and net energy exporter to attract leading energy manufacturers like Eos Energy to the Commonwealth," said Governor Shapiro. "We're doubling down on our efforts to aggressively compete for — and win — major projects like this one by cutting red tape, building out our skilled workforce, and investing in the next generation of energy technology. I'm proud that Pennsylvania will be home to Eos' new global headquarters — and my Administration will continue to work to cut energy costs, create good-paying jobs, and position the Commonwealth to continue to be a national energy leader for decades to come."
Founded in 2008, Eos develops and manufactures American-made aqueous zinc batteries (Znyth™), currently targeting the utility, industrial and commercial sector for power storage. Designed for a decentralized, democratized, and decarbonized energy system, Eos solutions are helping to support sustainable clean energy systems and resilient power grids, while supporting American supply chains through their 91 percent domestic content.
"Eos Energy's decision to expand its manufacturing operations in Allegheny County is a powerful testament to the value proposition this region offers at the nexus of energy, manufacturing, and innovation," said Stefani Pashman, CEO of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
"Eos' move will not only strengthen our region's position as a hub for advanced energy storage, but it will also attract new suppliers, partners, and innovators to the Pittsburgh region. We're especially proud that this growth comes with a continued commitment to the company's partnerships with local universities and the United Steelworkers — ensuring that good, family-sustaining jobs remain at the center of this story. This expansion underscores what's possible when business, labor, and community work together to build a more resilient and competitive regional economy," continued Pashman.
The news adds to the growing momentum of energy and infrastructure investment in the area. Liberty Energy, a leading energy services provider, unveiled plans to build a cutting-edge power generation facility in the Pittsburgh region. This follows news of a $10 billion redevelopment project to transform a former coal-fired power plant into the nation's largest natural gas-powered AI data center.
In addition, Governor Shapiro's office recently announced several major investments aimed at boosting advanced manufacturing and clean energy in the region. Mitsubishi Electric Power Products is receiving more than $6.7 million in state support toward a $92.7 million manufacturing and testing facility, while Mainspring Energy will receive $8.6 million to help fund a 300,000-square-foot clean-tech manufacturing plant.
