When we speak to our clients about their shipping container experience, they often cite benefits like:
One of the main reasons shipping containers are favored across various industries is their remarkable durability. Like Thurber House in Columbus, OH, these containers are engineered to endure the harsh conditions of the open sea, including fierce storms, strong winds, and extreme cold temperatures.
Constructed from steel, shipping containers are coated with a specialized paint that safeguards against corrosion, ensuring they remain reliable for many years. Additionally, each container is capable of supporting heavy loads and can be stacked efficiently, maximizing space during transport.
One of the biggest benefits of shipping containers is their versatility. While freight containers are great for storage, they can also serve as office spaces. In fact, with a little creativity, you can use your shipping container as both an office and a storage area. Blairworx Logistics' shipping containers for sale are great for a range of uses in many industries, including:
When it comes to shipping containers, the main replacement you'll need to think about every few years is the door gaskets. Shipping containers are designed for low maintenance, but it's still important to carry out an annual inspection to check for any areas where rust might start to form.
Shipping containers are delivered by truck. Before unloading, make sure there's enough space for the truck to drop off the container. At Blairworx, our team is happy to help you assess how much room you need for a shipping container drop-off. A good rule of thumb is to allow an area about twice the length of the container, with extra room in a straight line. For optimal placement, containers should be on level ground, especially in areas prone to flooding, where elevation is key.
A shipping container is an excellent solution for storing your products, important documents, valuable equipment, and just about anything else that matters to you. Unlike other companies that provide standard storage options, we offer fully customizable solutions designed to meet your unique needs.

But if you have long-lasting storage needs, it could be time to explore a more affordable solution.
Twenty years ago, shipping containers were not easily attainable for the average person. Nowadays, you can buy a container from Blairworx and have it delivered right to your business or home on the same day. In many parts of the United States, a 20ft shipping container-which provides long-lasting solutions for building, storage, and shipping-can be purchased for less than what you would pay for a year of traditional climate-controlled storage.
When thinking about storage options, money is often a big factor in making a choice. At first, renting a storage unit might seem like a simpler and cheaper option because there aren't many costs upfront. But if you look at the big picture, buying a storage container from Blairworx Logistics can save you more money in the long run. When you own a shipping container, you pay once instead of making regular rental payments that can add up over time.
One of the best things about having your own storage container is how flexible it is. Unlike traditional storage units that are stuck in one place, a container from Blairworx can be set up exactly where you want it. This makes it very easy to access your goods when you need them. This feature is especially helpful for business owners who need to grab their items often or need storage closer to their storefront or office.

Columbus' first snowfall of the winter season is in the books.
The city received half an inch of snow during the Nov. 9 storm, which is mild compared to the record of 5 inches the city received on the same day in 1913, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Snow continued to fall into the morning of Nov. 10.
In a special weather statement, the National Weather Service in Wilmington said much of the area it covers — portions of Ohio, southeastern Indiana and northern Kentucky — could see an additional 1-2 inches of snowfall accumulation on grassy areas, and much of the snow landing on paved surfaces might melt.
The snow will increase in intensity toward sunrise and move south of the area by early to mid-afternoon, the National Weather Service said.
The snow could cause limited visibility and slick spots on bridges and overpasses, the National Weather Service said, adding that motorists should plan for extra time during the morning commute.
A high near 36 degrees and mostly cloudy skies are forecast for later in the day, with a 40% chance of additional snow showers between 8 p.m. and 3 p.m., and a low of 25 degrees.
Two area school districts, Marysville Exempted Village School District and Fairbanks Local Schools, announced two-hour delays Nov. 10 due to the snow.
Fairbanks Local Schools said in a message to parents the delay was due to "wintry weather and road conditions."
If you're not a fan of snow, then there is some good news in the extended forecast. The chances of snow disappear from Columbus' immediate future the evening of Nov. 10 with warmer, albeit mostly cloudy conditions continuing through the rest of the week.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Our next weather maker will arrive Sunday into Monday. This will bring some BIG changes, including our first taste of wintry weather for the 2025-26 winter season!
With the timing of the wintry weather and freezing temps lining up for the Monday morning commute, we've issued a 10TV Weather Impact Alert Day for Monday from 2 a.m. through 10 a.m. The main concern with this time period will be for freezing temps, the potential for isolated slick spots on bridges and overpasses and the need to warm up your car and scrape the windshields early Monday, slowing your progress out the door.
The timing of this event will start with rain showers across central Ohio throughout the day on Sunday. As temps start to fall, we will see rain mix with snow, generally with little impact, as we head through late Sunday and early Monday.
This will turn to all snow overnight Sunday and early Monday, as temps fall into the 20s, with scattered light snowfall expected for that Monday morning commute. Accumulation potential should remain around a dusting for most, but the potential exists for isolated areas of snowfall accumulation that overperforms expectations.
In addition to the potential for snowfall, and just generally cold temps early Monday, you will need to bundle up for the wind chill as well.
Wind chill values early in the day on Monday could be in the low 20s to upper teens. This means you will need the extra layers to stay warm, especially if you will be standing out at the bus stop!
We don't stay cold for long, but 20s are expected again on Tuesday morning. We should be back in the 50s by the end of the week.
We'll keep you up to date as things changes throughout the weekend!

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Travelers and airlines are preparing for a mess of delays and cancellations across the country due to the government shutdown, trickling down to John Glenn International Airport in Columbus.
Early Friday morning, most people were able to travel with limited delays and cancellations, and TSA lines were moving passengers along with minimal issues. The federal government is cutting 10 percent of flights across 40 airports nationwide.
But some travelling out of Columbus did run into problems and said they were struggling to get to other parts of the country.
"It sucks for people," Julia Lear, who is travelling to Washington D.C, after a death in her family, said. "They are all just trying to get to where they want to be. They do the best they can, but at the same time, I don't know what's going on. A little structure would be nice."
The shutdown has left air traffic controllers and TSA agents without pay for weeks, impacting their ability to work effectively.
Flight reductions are set to begin at 4% on Friday, increasing to 10%, affecting flights scheduled between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., even though Columbus isn't included in the list of impacted airports.
I hope it doesn't hit every airport, but I feel like it's going to.
This development could further complicate travel plans, even for those not directly flying through John Glenn, as connecting flights and stops may be impacted.
"Our connecting flight got cancelled just now," Violet Puin said. "We honestly don't know what we're going to do, where we're going to go or how we're going to get to Savannah now. We might have to drive from Charlotte."
Right now, these travelers said they want the government shutdown to end, so that TSA agents, air traffic controllers and passengers can all take off without a hitch.
"Working together regardless of political party, right?" Donald Sanders, traveling to Omaha, Neb., said. "Communication is key. Let's work together and solve things in a timely manner."

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — UPDATE: With all precincts reporting in Delaware County, the unofficial results show voters passed the bond issue for Olentangy Schools 56.15% to 43.85% and the improvement levy for Delaware City Schools 52.16% to 47.84%.
Westerville City Schools' earned income tax overwhelmingly passed.
Jonathan Alder's bond issue appears to have narrowly failed, but Ohio law allows a recount within 0.5% or fewer of the total votes, and the unofficial results appear to be within that margin. Provisional ballots, which will be counted later, could also tip the scales.
Previous story:
In Delaware County, Olentangy Local Schools, the fourth largest district in the state, has proposed a bond issue that would raise $235 million without increasing taxes. The funds would be used to build a new high school and elementary school, as well as to finance critical infrastructure upgrades. If approved, design work would begin in 2025, with construction slated for 2026 to 2028. The elementary school is expected to be completed in 2027, followed by the high school in 2028.
Delaware City Schools is asking voters to approve a permanent improvement levy. This measure would generate $4.5 million annually for school maintenance, buses, computers, and classroom materials. Homeowners would incur a cost of $100 for every $100,000 in home value.
Westerville City Schools is attempting to pass a 0.75% earned income tax. This tax would equate to 75 cents for every $100 of earned income, excluding retirement and Social Security. The district has indicated that more than 100 jobs and other planned cuts are at stake.
Jonathan Alder School District in the Plain City area is seeking a bond issue to raise over $70 million. This measure would cost homeowners an additional $179 for every $100,000 of home value. The funds would be used to construct a new middle school and add to existing school buildings.
